SAPREC on the MAP!

Updated: Dec 2, 2020

What an awesome morning when Mariana Theron, the MySchool Garden Route representative visited the SAPREC centre in Mossdustria, Mossel Bay! It is always such an honour to welcome such wonderful guests. As you all know, SAPREC (Seabird and Penguin Rehabilitation Centre) was specifically established in order to help, rehabilitate and release marine birds, with emphasis on the endangered Cape Penguin and Cape Gannet.

The various seabirds need continual care, food and medication, which would not be possible without the valued support of MySchool/MyVillage/MyPlanet and each person who supports SAPREC by swiping their MySchool cards at the various shops, visits SAPREC or helps in various ways.

During the lockdown experienced as a result of COVID, the support received from MySchool/MyVillage/MyPlanet was and is truly appreciated. A generous donation of R10 000 was made to SAPREC and Mrs. Theron handed over the cheque to a few of the SAPREC volunteers (and Hiccup) at the centre. A Special Achievement Award was also presented to the SAPREC MySchool liaison member for Caring in Action.

The generous funding has made it possible for the SAPREC team to obtain much needed flooring mats for sections of the centre and in honour of MySchool, two walls were dedicated to say: THANK YOU!
